I have written about great literature before – and how you can go berserk in books for free. This year’s Literature Festival in Copenhagen is no exception.
In the following week various authors (and their books) will concern themselves with the theme “the body”. And what way can be better to kick off the festival than giving your beloved body a little treat? I entered the Central Library just in time for the canapé and champagne 🙂
Then it was time for a taste of what to expect during the week. Authors Anne-Marie Vedsø Olesen, Kaspar Colling Nielsen, Lea Korsgaard and Lotte Garber gave their shot of literature about the body – completed with provocation, health service and sex.
The festival wants to bring back the joy of reading books (on paper or digital) by letting the literature come to the readers instead of waiting for the readers to come and pick it up. That is why the players at a Nørrebro soccer club can expect reading of autobiographies from famous players. Or your place of work can expect any help required to establish a reading club, just like you probably already got wine- and sport clubs.
And the Central Library has done it again! They have a terrific way of combining great literature with fine music – and this time Danish act Jomi Massage entered the stage after the reading sessions. She has just released her new album PRIMITIVES, and she chose to perform a full-length of the dark and powerful music from the album, complete with ghosts and percussions.
The Literature Festival lasts until March the 7th – read all about what to expect
